F451 Summary Part 1

In part 1 of the book we been introduced to 3 main characters. Which is Montag, Mildred, and Clarisse. Montag is a guy who is a firefighter, in the story Montag isn't very happy, he pretends to be happy but really isn't, he loves to burn books just beacuse he thinks books are pointless. Montag only uses technology.
Mildred is Montag wife. They both don't talk to each other after the overdose situation.
Clarisse is a happy girl, who gets along with her family well.

THE STORY OF MY LIFE

My story occurred this summer of 2018. This summer I decided to lose weight, my whole life I was always bigger than most kids, and I wasn’t really satisfied with my looks. I was never really the type to care what others thought of me, but something before schooler ended my sophomore year wanted to lose weight. Weight was on my mind a lot towards the end of my sophomore year, So I started off eating healthy and doing hardcore exercises and i started off weighing 210pds and in the middle of June I lost 4pds Whitch wasn’t really that much to me. I began feeling more bad about my weight, so I started skipping meals, I started off eating breakfast and lunch. For breakfast I would have cereal and lunch I would have a salad,  I would begin working out at 5pm and end at 7pm during the 1st week of July I lost 20pds I liked the results but it wasn’t enough for me.Thn I began skipping meals and working out 2hrs in the moring on a empty stomach and 3hrs at night, towards the end of July I had lost 45pds I was weighing about 165pds, so I began to push myself and push myself. Then school started I had lost 68pds weighing about 142pds. Now food has become a battle everyday thinking anything I consume will make me fat, but threwout my weight lose journey I noticed our apprence shouldn’t matter, we shouldn’t have to do things to please others.

MY AUTHOR, MY HERO

A heroic author I chose was Anne Frank. She was a German borned diarist. Her most famous book is “ The diary of A Young Girl” as a young girl Anne Frank wrote about the time of the holocaust. She kept personal writing about what was going on, she wrote about her personal life. She is very inspiring just because she was a young girl going threw one of the biggest event in history.

In Thoreau’s Word

“  it’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see” this quote to me means that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, just cbecause you see something dosent really mean you know a lot about it.

“ Not until we are lost we begin to understand ourselves” To me this means once your truly by yourself and truly thinking you will know yourself.

“ life isn’t about finding yourself it’s about creating yourself so live you imagined everything “ this means to me jst be yourself.

Emerson’s essay

Emerson’s “ self- realiance” is based a lot on being your own person, and that we should not be afraid to be who want to be. Reliance- dependence on or trus in Somone or somthing. Self- reliance to me means don’t depend on others, that you are your own person. Take control of your life, don’t let other people bring you down. Do wheat you want to do in life.
Emerson’s tone to this essay is very powerful, his tone is very inspiring. Emerson’s dosent Carr what other people think of him or what people have to say.
Emerson’s essay on self- reliance is very inspirational I thought of some of the things Emerson talked about. the number one message that helped me understand this essay is be your OWN person, and thats what I’m going to do, I’m not gonna let others bring me down in the future, and I’m going to take control in my own life.

Conviction- a formal declaration that someone is guilty of a criminal offense, made by the verdict of a jury or the decision of a judge in a court of law.

Contemporaries- a person or thing living or existing at the same time as another.

Predominating- be the strongest or main element; be greater in number or amount.

Admonition- an act or admonishing; authoritative counsel or warning.

TODAYS EMERSON READING

I read a section from ‘self-reliance’ by Ralph Waldo Emerson’s, in this section he states “ There is a time in every man’s education when arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide; That he must take him self for better, for worse; as his portion” I think this means that we need to find our selfs, and find who we truly want to be in life, find our own person.
